'Bricks + Mortar' aims to bring to light the current housing crisis in the UK; focusing specifically on the relative impact within Bristol. The motivation for this brief was the 100th anniversary of the Addison Act, a clause making individual housing needs a national responsibility. In response to the current Bristol housing crisis, I decided to create a large format mega graphic to be engaged with by members of the public. I appropriated a snakes and ladders board; deconstructing the child-like connotations to create an almost unwinnable game, mirroring the challenges first-time buyers face when attempting to ascend the property ladder. The mega graphic measures 2.2m x 2.2m and is printed onto banner vinyl.
